Our Second Stop - Turku, Finland

Bidded goodbye to Germany happily (you will know why shortly) as we headed towards Finland.

I was expecting Turku to be a quiet and peaceful city; well somehow boring in my thoughts and was prepared to stay in the hotel room for full 3 days as hubby goes for his work meeting. To my surprise, the place we are staying - Sokos Hotel Hamburger Börs is surrounded by many many shops and departmental stores *Great!*

About Germany: We shopped mainly during our stay at Frankfurt city, focusing at Goethestrasse aka Frankfurt’s ‘Fifth Avenue’. A street where women will love, i think :) You can find almost all the brands you want there, from LV to Pradra to Chanel, Miu Miu, Hermes, Cartier, Tiffany etc

And yes yes, i left Germany happily cos hubby got me a Chanel bag there! Hee hee... At times i do ask myself, "Why do women love bags, especially those that cost so much?" Some call it materialistic, some say its silly but who cares as long as you like them. Guys do love expensive cars and watches too, don't they? :) Simply unexplainable.

Any way, back to my first Chanel purchase experience. When we went into the store, the SA told us there was only one classic flap jumbo in store, which is in black. I also spotted the patent black classic flap but it is only available in mid size. Contemplating if i should buy or wait? Size vs Material? For the high price, i couldn't really make up my mind as my ideal choice would be a metallic or patent in jumbo size. So a little disappointed, we stepped out of the store, continued our shopping and went for a cup of Nespresso coffee along the street.

I guessed during the coffee session, hubby knew my mind was all about the bag (or probably written all over my face, hee hee). He then said, "You like the bag right? If you can decide and really like it, then buy it." So we finished up our coffee (quickly, hee) and he brought me back to the store. What can i say but to give a BIG BIG hug & kiss for my dearest G ~ Thanks dearie for the bag & belt. Hee, yups got a LV belt too. Okie no more gifts for the year *zipped*

Well i'm not the only one shopping, hubby got quite a lot of stuffs too and 2 gifts from me :D
He commented, "Wow, good exchange ya... 1 cufflink and jacket in exchange for a belt and bag!" Geezz...

Germany, Day One

Yawnzz... a bit tired right now, sitting at Starbucks in Frankfurt Airport waiting for Mr. G to arrive. Total 7 hours of waiting and the good news is that 4 hours have passed, more than half the waiting time so 3 more hours to go!!

Bought a HotSpot card for internet access which helps to ease the waiting time so much :)
It was such a coincidence. Never thought i would meet someone here till i hear a familiar voice calling my name at Frankfurt checkpoint. It's Ai Lin!! Apparently we were on the same plane and she is also alone heading to Cologne for an exhibition. Both of us, first time travelling to Europe, were so excited and happy to see each other, hee... :)

We parted after collecting our luggage as she needs to head off to the train station while i explore the airport for the next couple of hours.

First stop - Supermarket. Spotted so many interesting chocolates and goodies which i wanted to buy back already, geezz. Talking about food.. Hmm, before i took off last night, i had such bad cravings for bubble tea (i ended driving out just to buy a cup!) and local food. Must be the thought of having sandwich, pasta, steaks and potato everyday which makes me feel like i'm going to miss local makans.

Actually only 11 days but i made it sound so drama like i'm going away for 11 months! Haha... Well well, this is Woman 5.0 :D

Touched down Frankfurt @ 6.15am

Wonder how dreadful it would be without internet....

Tag-A-Long Trip

I used to meet Maybel for coffee sessions ~ girls talk, chit chatting and gossipping. Hmm.. but nowadays, it seems like we have to change to baby sitting sessions for catch up! I forsee her place is going to be 'The Rabbit Babies' Meet-up Place' (along with BB Alexis, BB Shermaine & BB Charlyne) where the little ones will play together while mamas catch up, geezz..

It's been only a couple of months since i last visited Baby Alexis and she grew so much! Well done Maybel for your 'never give-up feedings' (apparently i heard Alexis is a not-so-easy to feed little gal and Mummy Maybel has to use "special tactics" to coax her in drinking the milk!) :D

And in less than 24 hours, i will be on a plane to Frankfurt! Hee, so looking to the trip as i have not been travelling since last November; also my very first visit to Germany and Finland :)

Mr. G is now in Brazil and i shall meet him in Frankfurt 2 days later! For now I do miss him and i guess i will be missing little one from tomorrow night...

"We will be play mates"

Will be missing her smile and her innocent-looking chubby face

MIA?

MIA? Almost 3 months with no updates! I have been really busy with our new arrival, BB Charlyne! :)

Ok now that our new helper is in, i finally find some time to update my bloggie :)

So many things happening, Mr. G & I were so overwhelmed by our new joy and i guessed we took it off quite easy beforehand - so well, lesson learnt - need to prepare all our stuffs for the next one! (Yeah, we are still planning to have more little G and little X)

With my favorite month August (our birthdays and wedding anniversary) being my confinement period, it was no fun at all like previous years. But when I see BB, heee... well, she just melts your heart.

Now now, coming up in October is a month i'm so looking forward to! My mama is full-time taking care of baby and my very first visit to Germany and Finland. Haven't got time to really plan the itinerary though so i believe we'll just pop by a few places of interest, find a nice cafe, sit down enjoy the weather (or probably too cold, haha) ~ have a hot cuppa coffee and relax! :D

Alright, here's some pics on our little joy :)

Our Little Angel :)

Also our Sunshine Gal! :)

Our Birthday Treats ~ Enjoying High-tea at Rose Veranda, Shangri-la

From this pic, you know we had a good time at high tea, hee hee

Reason why Mr. G laughed so happily - This is the sweetener and he accidentally pour tea in it!
Well, not only once but twice or thrice?!! Hee

Great Singapore Sales!

It's GSS - Great Singapore Sales and really a shopping month for us :)

Every weekend is just shop shop shop - buy buy buy - spend spend spend. Bought so many new stuffs, heee... With sales everywhere, i guess it's the best time to shop eh? :) And finally this month, we started to prepare for baby's arrival - got her new clothes, bed, car seat, carrier etc. Hubby also got himself a new driving mechanic! I do feel sad as we bid goodbye to the 3-year old silver beammer.. but with this new mechanic, Mr. G can stop complaining about car boot size :D

Mr. G trying out the Manduca child and baby carrier

My thoughts: Of all the baby items, I felt hubby was most enthusiastic gettting the carrier, so he decides on his preferred design whilst i'm more into stroller, heee..

Have to start drinking coconut as recommended :)

E.M.O.

Feeling emo... Need sweet treats, so went off to get some donuts after work.

Feel like shopping but don't know what i can get for myself :( Anyway, just shopped for a while and got some little stuffs. Shopping therapy does some how helped in lifting my spirit, well at least a bit.

Bad start of June - Feeling moody, vexed, irritable and huffy. Must be the increasing hormones that made it from bad to worse. Pray that tomorrow is gonna be a better day!

Last Count Down for the Month!

Meanwhile i shall keep myself busy with work, friends catch up, our to-buy bb list and "bag research", hee hee - Don't know why but i so feel like getting a new bag recently, heee... And am very glad that my MIL do come by and stay over for a few days to keep me company :)

New Gadget Recruited

It's Good Friday today - rest and relax at home and looking forward to go for this Sunday's Easter Service whilst Mr. G goes for his golf session :)

Last Saturday hubby says he will bring me to a 'secret place' for dinner and kept me in suspense till we reached the destination. The place is indeed quite 'ulu' but nice ambience there; with options of both indoor and outdoor dining areas :) Actually Mr. G had heard it over radio advertisement and decided to explore this new place together. Hmm.. I must say strict hubby can sometimes be quite sweet and dar at times, geezz...

(P/S: Couzie Janey, radio advert works!!)

Our Saturday Dinner @ Bunker Restaurant

Outside the Restaurant

Thanks Dearie :)

Ooops! Mr. G says "Cover ur plump cheeks" *_* / Cheers ~ Need a mug of cold beer during this hot weather *Slurps*

On Sunday, yippies i got my new camera!! And yes we went to the same old favourite shop - Parisilk. Did some research online, called to check out the prices with other shops and it seems like Parisilk's still offering one of the best package in town :)

My new Nikon D3100! Can't wait to take pictures with it :D

April Updates

Mr. G's out of town again... and while he is away, i have been working on late nights. Many many events coming up, work seems never ending, hmms... Yesterday, one of my colleague who sees my still around at work after 8pm jokingly said, "Hey Xerene, go home - this is child abuse!" Oppssie... Of course i won't wear myself out and I'm glad i don't feel extremely tired - thank God for blessing me in good health :D

Okie enough of work. On the leisure side, Mr. G and I went to Goodwood Park's weenkend local high-tea earlier this month. After which, hubby thought we should go around Singapore hotels to check-out their brunch or high tea every first week of the month! I told Mr. G, "Well, i don't mind" hee hee.. As for Goodwood Park's Coffee Lounge, overall was not bad. The food was tasty but they should really look into adding more variety as you kind of get bored over eating the same few dishes after a couple of rounds. And ya, there were Mövenpick ice-creams for desserts but why was there no chocolate flavored? :(

Goodwood Park's Coffee Lounge - Nice Ambience :)

Meanwhile the things I'm looking forward to:
- Hubby's home sweet home tomorrow :)
- Getting my Nikon D3100 over the weekend!! Can't wait to have it in my hands, heee

Meet-up with Couz

Just back from dinner session with Couz Karling & Janey. Time passed really quickly everytime girls sit down and start chit chatting, heee... I'm glad to hear that they are both happy with work and all things are good :D

After i ate the Oreo Cheese last week with Hui, it left me with a not so satisfied feeling so i guess it led me to having cravings for nice Oreo Cheese cake. Both couzies wanted to ensure i have a good sleep tonight so they decide we should walk around till we find a cafe with 'nice-looking' Oreo Cheese cake. As the nearest stop was Coffee Club, they first suggested the place and i immediately said "No - i just had it last week. It was alright but their oreo cheese look very grey" heee.. So we headed on to our search and ended up at Flying Chillies (a Thai Restuarnt) @ Orchard 313.

Verdict: Xerene is now satisfied (can sleep well, hee), especially with the presentation of the cake :)

Target Spotted! As we walked passed Flying Chilli :D

We wondered why they took so long to serve the cake.. Well, worth the wait :)

Home Alone Week

Recently Mr. G is back to travel mode - Dubai, Jakarta, now Hong Kong then Malaysia - so home alone week for me.

Sometimes i do miss him much even if it's only a couple of days and though we still chat every night. I can't imagine in May where he will be probably be home for only a week or so? Alright, won't want to think about it for now. Just looking forward to hubby back in another 2 days! :)

Last week, it was home alone week for Hui Hui aka the new Mrs Pee. So we met up for dinner, had a good girl's talk session, did some shopping and went for dessert. Hui was so sweet, she just popped out 2 Jagabees and said "Nah, for you" - Reason, she said i need to put on weight, haha...

Our Dessert @ Coffee Club - The Bottom One is Mine, Make a Guess to the Flavour on this Greyish Cake?
(Answer: The gray colour, clay-look alike cake is actually Oreo Cheese! Taste alright but colour seems really off)

This Ain't No Normal Jagabee - It's with Lova! Hee hee...

Sad that L'occitane discontinued their Shea Organic Cotton Range, so i just had to source for altneratives
This Kiehl's Moisturizer is not bad too - Mild and non-greasy feel :)
