Trip Journal - Day 1

Taiwan Day 1: Kaohsiung

We started our day very early as we have to reach the airport around 5.15am.. *Yawns*

There was no entertainment for Silkair so we just try to sleep our way through... But it was so disturbing - I seriously don't know why there are so many people going to the toilet!! Arrghh.... the queue was like never ending and those uncles & aunties were talking very loudly. So my advice, please avoid taking the last few rows if you are traveling with Silkair + knowing that most are mainly going for tours.

Flight to Taiwan - i look soooo tired :(

Too bored, so we played Hang-Man, heee..

We arrived Kaohsiung at around 1pm and the weather there was not as cold as i thought it would be. In fact you don't need a jacket at all.... But during evening, it starts to get colder.

1st Stop: Dream Mall

Our first stop was to drop by Dream Mall as we were too early for night market. The shopping mall is very new and our tour guide told us that it is also one of the biggest mall in Taiwan. Oh ya, if you are a Hello Kitty Fan (e.g. Dr. Octopus *oOops*) - You will love this place! Cos you can find lots of big Hello Kitty figurings around and the ferry wheel's theme is Hello Kitty too! :)

This shopping mall is pretty interesting as they have lots of different small shops around and it includes both indoor and outdoor theme park.

Look at those Hello Kitty Figurings :)

Let's go to the Theme Park!

Wanted to try the bubble walk on water - Looks soooo FUN!

Hee.... Me playing kids stuff ^^

2nd Stop: Liou He Night Market (六合夜市)

This night market sells lots of Taiwan Xiao Chi - i especially like the 日式鸡排 (Jap-style Chicken Culet)! Very yummie!! Good place to try the Taiwanese Snacks there (not so much of shopping) but I learnt from one of the locals there that the prices over at this night market is a little more expensive as compared to the rest - more to a tourist night market.

This is the stall i loved!!

After these two places, we headed back to the hotel and rest cos tomorrow's gonna be another long day and the morning call will be at 6.30am!!
